Covering the area along the Chao Phraya River and including the area around the Grand Palace, this area stretches across several neighborhoods with the only commonality being that the hotels are close to, and in some cases directly fronting the river. The Chao Phraya River is an important transportation link and taking a ferry say to the Grand Palace or Wat Phra is a convenient way to mix and mingle with the local Thais and an interesting way to see, explore and experience Bangkok.
Whilst some of Bangkok's most luxurious and exclusive international 5 star hotels are situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, there are also many excellent locally owned and managed 4 and 5 star luxury properties with all the bells and whistles of their larger counterparts to pamper visitors but at a fraction of the price. FYI, in order to remain objective, hotels are listed in alphabetical order. We don't favor any hotel for any reason. |
